Trinity F90+ in the process of receiving C3 label soon

With the beginning of the year 2023, the transition period for unclassified UAVs as per (EU) 2019/945 ends. Consequently, UAVs are only allowed to be operated with a class identification label being attached.

The Trinity F90+ falls under the class C3 for unmanned aircraft systems. Quantum-Systems is working with Spanish Alter Technology Group (TÜV Nord) to receive the class C3 label for Trinity F90+, ensuring compliance with the requirements of that class. The extensive test procedures are scheduled to launch in the beginning of March with the hand-over of a serial UAV in the facilities of the first notified body in Europe and accredited test lab, which is Alter Technology Group.

“In case all parties involved will be able to keep the time schedule, the Trinity F90+ will be one of the first officially C3 labelled drones in the European market. The classification efforts will then be completed months before the end of the EU’s transition period. Not only is the classification a legal requirement but also an independent proof of the system safety level and the advanced flight performance of the Trinity platform,” says Tim Ganzer, Certification Manager at Quantum-Systems.

All Trinity F90+ models equipped with the current hardware and software revision will be eligible of a retrofittable identification label.

Further time slots for Quantum-Systems Vector and Scorpion UAV, CE certifications for future product versions, as well as IP53 certification are already planned at the notfied body for the second half of the year.

Alter Technology Group is based in Madrid, Spain, and part of the TÜV Nord Group and accredited notified body of the EASA for drone classification and CE declarations.

As a class C3 UAV Trinity F90+ shall have a direct remote identification.
This is not only a requirement by the EASA, but also part of the FAA requirements for operating UAVs in the United States.

Since January 1^st, 2022, all Trinity F90+ drones are already equipped with a Remote ID module integrated into the payload. Later this year, the Trinity F90+ will be shipped as a standard Remote ID drone to all customers all over the world, with the Remote ID module implemented in the main body.

Trinity F90+ is C3 ready.
